About this Walk

Did you know that before the community of Valley Ridge was developed, Happy Valley – an amusement park which included rides, indoor and outdoor pools, and even a ski hill – existed in its place?

In this walk, we will visit landmarks of our past and present. We’ll see the site of Alberta House, part of the old ski hill, and the Buffalo rub. And we’ll visit contemporary sites like the ice rink, the community garden, and the adult fitness park.

Valley Ridge is in a valley, so if you join this tour be prepared to walk up and down a few hills.

Plenty of parking at the start location, and it’s easy to find – even if you’re from outside our neighbourhood. Come join us!
