About this Walk

South Glenmore Park has many facets; a children’s playground and water park, the sailing club, paved paths for runners, cyclists and walkers and nature trails too. Local poet, Juleta Severson-Baker (author of Incarnate) grew up in Oakridge within walking distance of the park, and several of her poems are inspired by this place. Join Juleta and be treated to some of her poems, as well as learning some techniques for journalling and writing poetry. Bring a notebook and pen, or a tablet or iPad to write on. We’ll be stopping for inspiration and to do some writing along the way! Be prepared to walk along paved pathways and also to head down to the shore of the reservoir on slightly more rugged terrain. Sturdy shoes and a walking stick may make your walk easier.
