About this Walk

The East Village Seniors Walk and Rock will kick off at the Central Library. Let’s learn more about its development and then rock on over to the National Music Centre. We will get more of the vibe around its history and architecture. Move on to hear from East Village’s local pharmacist and his love for community. And then get to know some of the finer details of the surrounding buildings in East Village. Meander towards the confluence of the Elbow and Bow Rivers, an important gathering spot in MOH-KINS-TSIS currently known as Fort Calgary, and deepen your understanding of the traditional territory. As our journey continues, you will pass by the George King Bridge and be indulged by a live literary reading as you make your way to the 5th Street Square where you will be greeted by music, hot chocolate and snacks.
